one...

this week marks state of joys blogs first anniversary. one year, 63 posts and i'm still loving bringing you a new post every week. i would never have dreamt of starting this blog without the encouragement from my friend monica. she suggested that i should think about doing a blog while we were holidaying at kata beach, phuket thailand in january 2011. that i look at it as a way to express my creative side, launch products, show my photography and basically put my design ideas out there so other people can enjoy and hopefully be inspired by too... mon *thank you.

i'd also like to thank everyone who has read, "liked", shared and commented on my blog and facebook page. the feedback and encouragement has been over whelming. i hope that the readers continue to grow and all those who have read state of joy since day one continue to enjoy my posts... x

so to celebrate this one year anniversary i'm looking back at some of the posts that together sum up state of joys first year...
post: city squared...
my photographic posts on cities, well technically most of them are towns or suburbs has given me the opportunity to showcase places i've visited and a subject to explore my newest hobby of lomography photography.

post: in my place...
this post of images of my home was one of many posts that included interiors that i love. yes, i love my place. i have realised that my favourite interior styling is a home that is full of things that have been collected over the years, where different styles are bought together only because the owner loves them. i don't like clatter but i love quirky, individual pieces, items that represent the owner. i love spaces that are welcoming and every time you visit there's something new to look at...
