34.47°S 150.90°E | this [town]...

continuing on my exploration of towns close to home, i took a short drive south to a town i mainly know as the industrial heartland of wollongong: port kemblato be honest i know very little about this coastal town. i do know its home to the bluescope steel steelworks, its harbour is a major coal export port and the town is host to one of the tallest chimney stacks in australia.

apart from its industrial traits, and a main street that is in desperate need of retail therapy - the   best part of port kembla is its beach. it has one of the prettiest and cleanest beaches on the south coast that is definitely worth the visit...
