on thursday 3rd october i boarded a very very early flight to head to the west coast of australia for four days with my brother, my sister in-law and niece who are in the last month of their six month holiday around our beautiful country. the holiday started super well, with a upgrade to business class [brother works for qantas, life is grand]. arriving in perth to 30+ degree weather and embarking on a three hour drive south to meet them at a small coastal town called yallingup in the south west region. when i finally arrived, five and half hours later [took my sweet time being a tourist], the family was there with a cute welcome sign that zalie had made with a little help from her dad.

over the next few days we traveled around the area sampling local icecream and lollies, visiting gorgeous untouched beaches, beautiful headlands, inspiring art galleries, hitting the wineries and breweries, and simply just enjoying our time together in the close quarters of the caravan. i thoroughly enjoyed my time with them; zalie was a gracious host giving up her bed for me and trying her best not to wake me too early. thank you xx

driving back to perth to board the dreaded red-eye flight to sydney, the sun setting to my left. you could never tire of those western australian sunsets over the ocean...
